Rambhakt Hanuman thought that when Mata Sita’s application of vermilion increases the good fortune and age of Lord Shree Rama, then why not put vermilion on the whole body. He did the same after this, after seeing his devotion and dedication, Mother Sita gave Mahavir Hanuman the boon of immortality. It is believed that this day was the day of Deepawali. Therefore, this day is also celebrated as Hanuman Jayanti. This is also the secret to delight Bajrang Bali by offering vermilion.

Hanuman Jayanti Vrat and Puja Vidhi

Those observing the fast observe celibacy on the previous night and it is good if you sleep on the ground. Get up in the Brahma Muhurta in the morning, remember Lord Rama, Mother Sita and Shri Hanuman. Then take a bath after you retire daily. After worshiping the idol of Bajrang Bali Hanuman, worship it lawfully and perform the aarti of Shri Hanuman ji, followed by recitation of Hanuman Chalisa and Bajrang Baan. On this day, a monolithic recitation of Sundara Kand or Hanuman Chalisa of Shri Ramcharit Manas can also be done. You can keep jaggery, soaked or roasted gram and gram flour ladoos as prasad. You can take red or yellow flowers of rhinoceros, rose, canner, sunflower etc., vermilion, saffron sandalwood, incense-agarbati, pure ghee or jasmine oil etc. for worshiping material. If Hanuman ji is offered vermilion on this day, then even his wishes are fulfilled soon.
