Political rhetoric has started on the delay in hanging New Delhi’s Nirbhaya convicts. The BJP on Thursday accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of Delhi that the execution of the culprits was delayed due to the laxity of the state government. Union Minister and BJP leader Prakash Javadekar strongly attacked the AAP, saying that the Delhi government was responsible for delay in justice.
Questioning the AAP government over the delay in the notice,
Javadekar said that in the last 2.5 years, why did the Delhi government not give notice to the convicts for filing mercy petition? Javadekar said, “There is only one reason why the accused of the Nirbhaya scandal that rocked the country has not yet hanged.” Due to the negligence of the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi, he did not hang himself. His appeal was rejected by the Supreme Court in 2017 itself. He was hanged. There is a process under which the Tihar Jail Administration has to give notice of what petitions you have to give. But this notice was not given until October last year. This is a delay of two and a half years, it is a sympathy to the culprits of the Delhi government. During the hearing on the death warrant, Delhi government lawyer Rahul Mehra said that 22 cannot be hanged. ”
Sisodia said, immediately took action
Explain that Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had said that his government took prompt action on the mercy petition of the culprits. The Delhi government has recommended the mercy petition of Mukesh Singh be dismissed. Sisodia said that the government took this decision with lightning fast.
BJP’s target of Congress over
Sikh riots Javadekar cites Justice SN Dhingra Committee report on 1984 Sikh riots fiercely targeting Congress. He said that it has become clear from the report of the Dhingra Committee that the hand of the Congress is with those who do the Kalteam. He said that Congress mentality can be understood when the then Congress Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi can say ‘when the big tree falls, the earth shakes’. He said, “This was a very wrong example of Rajiv Gandhi.”
The Congress supported the accused in the massacre – BJP
Javadekar said in a press conference held at the BJP office, ‘Justice Dhingra Committee has given examples of this approach of the government. An example is that there were five hundred incidents in Sultanpuri. There was murder, arson, loot and FIR of 500 incidents. If the investigation of such a large scale was delayed, the court acquitted the accused by citing delay. The Congress supported the accused of such a massacre. Therefore Dhingraji has recommended to the government that an appeal be made again.

‘With those who assassinate Congress’
Referring to the statement of Congress leader Sam Pitroda, the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting said that the mentality of the Congress has been to avoid problems. He said, ‘Sam Pitroda said that what happened, what happened? This happened here, the attitude belongs to the Congress. This shows that the Congress’ hand is with those who kill.
He also questioned the Justice Ranganath Mishra Commission set up in 1985. He said that Justice Ranganath Mishra Commission was formed in 1985. Hundreds of affidavits did not appear before him. An FIR was also filed on these affidavits after 6-7 years. The court also acquitted the accused citing the delay.
Took a pinch on Raut’s statement
Javadekar also took a jibe at Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut’s statement on former PM Indira Gandhi. He said, ‘Man sometimes tells the truth. The Congress was accused of helping Dawood to flee the country. Congress does communal politics, does vote bank politics. Please tell that Raut had said that former PM Indira used to meet underworld don Karim Lala.
