SouthAfrica appointed Jack Kallis as batting coach

SouthAfrica appointed Jack Kallis: Great all-rounder Jacques Kallis from South Africa has been recruited as the team’s batting consultant for the next season. Kallis, who retired from international cricket five years ago, has 45 centuries in Tests and 17 centuries in ODIs. He was a KKR batting consultant in the IPL.

Johannesburg. Great all-rounder JK from South Africa has been recruited as the team’s batting consultant for the next season. Cricket South Africa said on Twitter that Jacques Kallis, former South African all-rounder, has been appointed batting consultant of the team. He will join the team from Wednesday.

SouthAfrica appointed Jack Kallis has played 519 international matches in all formats, scoring 25534 runs and taking 577 wickets. He has played 166 Tests, 328 ODIs and 25 T20 matches. Kallis, who retired from international cricket five years ago, has 45 centuries in Tests and 17 centuries in ODIs. He was a KKR batting consultant in the IPL. Earlier, Test wicketkeeper Mark Boucher was made the head coach of South Africa last week.

Two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League on Sunday removed their head coach Jacques Kallis and assistant coach Simon Katich from their positions due to poor performance in this year’s tournament. The team, however, has not decided on the future of captain Dinesh Karthik, who was part of the Indian World Cup squad. KKR’s team finished fifth this year. This is the first time in four seasons that his team could not make it to the playoffs. 

KKR’s website quoted CEO Venky Mysore as saying, “Jacques Kallis was and always will be an important part of the KKR family. We will find other ways to work with Jacques. “Kallis joined KKR as a player in 2011 and was then made the head coach of the team in 2015.
